The properties inherently found in acrylic plastic mean that these splashback can withstand and remain undamaged by inorganic chemical compounds, so as long as you do not wipe them with strong alcohol or oil, they will never become tarnished or worn.
This essentially ensures that the splashbacks will retain their glossy finish and colour clarity long into the future, without it ever fading or diminishing as a result of long-term cleaning or direct sun exposure.
Even if acrylic would eventually become worn as a result of over-cleaning, this would not be an issue as it does not pick up dust or grease as easily as glass or steel splashbacks would. Better still when it does become dusty or splashed with grease, water, sauce, etc. it simply has to be wiped down with a damp cloth and its brilliant colour and shine will be revitalised.
Due to the ease with which it can be cleaned there ought to be no reason why you should have to take a harsh sponge or Brillo pad to the splashback, but if you’re ever tempted to, it is important that you refrain, as the acrylic may become scratched, which will ruin the way it looks.
Lightweight and machinable, these hygienic acrylic splashbacks can be safely and easily installed by almost any DIYer.
Fitting Acrylic splashbacks can be easily fitted, without the need for professional help, directly to almost any flat surface using our versatile and durable double sided PE foam tape. Check out our splashback fitting guide to see just how easy it is to fit splashbacks yourself.
Please Note: We recommend all acrylic splashbacks are not installed closer than 200mm to an open heat source such as a gas/electric hob.
